When you have gone on and completed the special work in the other departments
including lighting and starting, wiring, carburetor work, magnetos,
etc., you are given the opportunity to come back to the motor room
and review on these subjects by practical work on all these principle
types of motors and accessories.
Needless to say, the cost of maintaining
and operating a department of this kind on such an extensive scale
is prohibitive to most schools. This is another advantage of
taking the course at the Rahe School, which is the largest and
best equipped in the world.
The big reason that I use so many
illustrations of the actual work as it is done in my school is to
make it evident to any man who had mechanical inclinations and
a willingness to learn, that he need have no concern but what
he will be able to learn the business here. Years of
experience in doing just this one thing makes sure that when you
come to the Rahe School, that you will learn to handle any kind of
trouble on any kind of car you will run up against, when you have
graduated.
One of my students wrote me recently that
he had landed a good position in a big garage in Texas just because
he was able to take a car and fix it up in about |

hours that not a man in the shop had been able to repair.
He wrote me that the remarkable part of it
to him was that thy had not been able to fix it, as he had no
difficulty in locating the trouble and of course, knew just what to
do.
I tell you frankly, that much of the
success of learning the automobile and traction engine business is
due to having the opportunity to get an unlimited amount of practice
and work under the direction of expert instructors, on all kinds and
types of automobiles, trucks and tractors.
I think you will appreciate now why it is
that educational requirements are of secondary importance in
learning this business. The only successful and practical way
to learn the automobile and tractor business is by doing every
feature of the work, over and over again, until you are able to
recognize and repair any kind of trouble that you meet with.
You should also consider that the Rahe method of practical training
is backed by years of experience in teaching men along this one
line. The agricultural colleges and trade schools have
demonstrated in recent years the superiority of school trained men
under all conditions to the fellows that have just "picked
up" their knowledge of the business. |
