specific things. The man who knows a little of everything and
not much of anything in particular cannot hope for much return for
his work and time. It is the trained man who is in
demand--trained definitely and specifically to do things in the
right way and in the shortest possible time -- whose knowledge of
his business is thorough and whose training makes him adept in doing
his work, that is the man who is sought after and who gets the
high pay.
The trained motor mechanic stands in the
same relation to the motor industry, as the doctor stands in
medicine and the lawyer in the law business -- the greatest rewards
are to those who know thoroughly what to do at the right time and in
the right way.
The course of training in this school will
train you thoroughly in all branches of the automobile, truck and
tractor industry, including the following:
GARAGE MANAGER
Perhaps in your home town there is need
for a good garage. Frequently men with money are waiting to
open such a place provided they can secure a competent man to take
charge. My course trains you to hold this position. The
pay is large and frequently carries commissions on the sale of cars
and supplies. The pay averages $75.00 to $250.00 per month.
SALESMAN
Big companies are constantly on the
lookout for good automobile salesmen. He must know all about
cars, how to operate them, how to make quick adjustments, etc.
pay runs from $100.00 to $350.00 per month.
DEMONSTRATOR
The automobile sales agencies
want and will pay big wages for a good demonstrator. His work
is to "show off" the car -- its fine points -- control,
etc. He must be a competent and careful driver. His pay
runs from $90.00 to as high as $300.00 per month, depending on his
ability.
STARTING AND LIGHTING EXPERT
Nearly every inquiry I receive asking
for expert automobile men says "he must be good on starting and
lighting and electrical work." The starter expert is in
greater demand than almost any other kind of an automobile expert
and a man who thoroughly understands this work gets big pay.
My course in starting and lighting is
practical and I train you to hold a position as starter and lighting
expert and draw big wages. The pay runs from $100.00 to
$200.00 per month. |
WELDING EXPERT
There is an enormous demand for welding
experts. All down through the oil and gas fields they are
employing hundreds of welding experts and their pay runs from $4.00
to as high as $8.00 per day.
I was the first man to teach oxy-acetylene
welding in a practical way and give you actual practice work in all
kinds of welding work, pipe cutting, metal cutting, etc.
REPAIRMAN
Here's the field having the most
opportunities for the trained man. The expert repairman is
always in demand. His work is steady, hours short with good
pay for extra time. The pay runs from $20.00 to $50.00 per
week. We have constant calls for expert repairmen.
VULCANIZING AND TIRE REPAIR
There is a need in every
community for a garage or shop specializing on this work. The
increased cost for tires today is making everyone want to get all
the mileage possible. Necessary investment for a vulcanizing
plant is small. Pays from $75.00 to $250.00 a month income,
and in proportion for operators.
EMERGENCY MAN OR "TROUBLE SHOOTER"
Here is where the real automobile expert
shows to best advantage. At a moment's notice he must grab his
tool kit and rush out on the road to a disabled car. The
trouble may be only a puncture, it may be a defective spark plug, or
it may be a Big Eight or "Twin Six" piled in the ditch;
whatever it is, he must be able to locate the trouble at once and
know just what to do. We train you to do this work.
CHAUFFEUR
The chauffeur's work is usually
light. He gets from $20.00 to $35.00 per week and generally
has board and clothing furnished. He is expected to keep his
car in good condition and make small repairs. However he is
sometimes called upon to make big repairs and must know how to do
it.
MOTOR TRUCK DRIVER
This is well paid work and there is a
growing demand for good truck drivers both in the city and
country. He has entire charge and care of his big truck.
He must be able to make repairs, know the rules for driving and
handling trucks. His pay runs from $4.50 per day up. The
increasing use of trucks for heavy hauling creates a constant demand
for expert truck drivers. |
