The
violin department presents a systematic course of
instruction from the earliest stages of violin
playing to the masterful achievements of the
virtuoso performer.
The course of study has
been outlined to impart a broad and general
musical knowledge as well as a thorough training
in artistic violin playing. Students are
taught to play with an understanding of the
principles of their art, to think logically, and
to play intelligently. As in all other
departments of this institution, works from the
standard violin literature are selected with great
care, according to the individual requirements of
the student.
