We sincerely hope that you will be tempted to try these truly
delicious recipes which include pure, wholesome Muehlebach
Pilsner beer as an ingredient. Here are several of the
tastiest our forefathers knew, brought up to date with Muehlebach
Pilsener beer. |

HAM
COOKED WITH MUEHLEBACH PILSENER |

bottle (12 ozs) beer |
Cloves |
| 1
(8-lb) ham |

tablespoon dry mustard |
| 1/2
cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
2
tablespoons vinegar |
|
Cover ham with cold water. Bring
slowly to boiling point. Simmer for
three hours. Remove from water.
Skin. Score fat in diamond shapes, and
stud with cloves. Make a paste of
sugar, mustard and vinegar. Pour over
ham. Bake in moderate oven (350
degrees F.) 1 1/2 hours, basting
frequently with beer. Approximate
yield: 24 portions. |

CHEESE
RAREBIT |
| 1
cup cold Muehlebach Pilsener |
2
tablespoons butter |
| 1
pound American cheese, grated |
3
egg yolks, slightly beaten |
|
6
slices toast |
|
Place cheese and butter in upper part of
double boiler. Heat over hot water
slowly or until partially melted. Add
half the beer. Stir until
smooth. Add remaining beer to egg
yolks. Add to cheese. Continue
to cook slowly over hot water,
stirring constantly until thick and
smooth. Serve on toast.
Approximate yield: 6 portions. |
