RECIPES FOR POPULAR MIXED
DRINKS.

WHISKEY JULEP.
(Large
glass.) |
One
tablespoonful of white powdered sugar.
Two and one-half tablespoonsful of water.
(Mix well).
One and one-half wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Take three or four sprigs of fresh mint, press them well
in the sugar water until the flavor of the mint is
extracted, add the whiskey adn fil the glass with fine
shaved ice, draw out the sprigs of mint and insert them
in the ice with the stems downward, so that the leaves
will be above in the shape of a bouquet -- arrange
berries and small pieces of sliced orange on top in a
tasty manner, dash with Fels Jamaica rum and serve with
a straw. |

WHISKEY FLIP.
(Large
glass.) |
One teaspoon
of sugar, dissolved in a little seltzer or mineral
water.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
One fresh egg -- two lumps of ice.
Shake well and strain into a glass, grate a little
nutmeg on top before serving. |

WHISKEY RICKEY.
(Medium size glass.)

One or two
pieces of ice,
Juice of one lime,
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Fill with club soda, seltzer or other miner water, serve
with a spoon. |

WHISKEY SOUR.
(Large
glass.) |
One and
one-half tablespoonful sugar, dissolved in a little
seltzer or other mineral water.
The juice of half small lemon.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Fill the glass full of shaved ice, shake up and strain
into a claret glass, ornament with berries. |

WHISKEY FIZZ.
(Large
glass.) |
Two or three
dashes lemon juice.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Three-quarters glass fine ice.
Stir well, strain into glass, fill with seltzer or other
mineral water, drink at once. |

HOT WHISKEY PUNCH.
(Use medium
size glass.) |
Two wine
glasses boiling water.
Two lumps of sugar.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Dissolve the sugar with one wine glass of the water,
then pour in the whiskey, add the balance of the water
and a thin slice of lemon. Rinse glass in warm
water before using. |

(Large glass.)

One-half glass
shaved ice.
Two dashes syrup.
Two dashes bitters.
One dash Curacao.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Stir with spoon, strain in glass, put in cherry or olive
and squeeze lemon peel on top. |

MANHATTAN COCKTAIL.
(Use large glass.)
|
Fill glass
with ice.
One dash syrup.
One dash Fels Orange Bitters.
One dash Curacao or Absinthe.
One-half wine glass Fels Whiskey.
One-half wine glass Vermouth.
Stir with spoon, strain in glass, put in cherry and
squeeze lemon peel on top. |

MARTINI DRY COCKTAIL.
(Large glass.)

Fill glass
with ice.
One dash Fels Orange Bitters.
One dash Curacao or Absinthe.
One-half wine glass Vermouth.
Stir with spoon, strain in glass, put in olive and
squeeze lemon peel on top. |

HIGHBALL.
(Medium size glass.)
|
Two or three
lumps clear ice.
One wine glass Fels Whiskey.
Fill glass with cold mineral water. |

|
GIN FIZZ.
(Large glass.)
|
Two-thirds
glass of ice.
Half teaspoonful powdered sugar.
Three or four dashes lemon juice.
Two ounces Fels Old Tom Gin.
Shake well, strain into another glass, fill up with
seltzer. |

EGG NOG.
|
One fresh egg.
One glass of cold milk.
Two heaping teaspoonfuls of sugar.
Half whiskey glass of Fels Rum.
Half whiskey glass Fels Brandy.
Shake well and grate in a little nutmeg. |
