HILLS OF QUIVIRA |
| |
When daily tasks
are through I
seek your hills,
Where I can pray in peaceful solitude,
And listen to
the thrushes'
flute-like
trills
That waft upon the wind harp interlude.
The language of
your trees
enchant my
heart,
I feel the touch of inspiration's wings,
I count each
hour I spend
with you a part
Of happiness, revealing many things.
You comfort me,
your beauty is
divine;
Your aisles are paved with neither brick
nor stone;
I need no
greater riches,
wealth is mine.
Quivira hills, I claim you for my own.
--Joy Comfort. |
