Green Parrot Vegetable and Side Dish Recipes
 

HOMINY GRITS AU GRAUTIN

1 c. quick cooking hominy grits   1 tb. Worcestershire sauce
4 c. boiling water, salted 1/4 c. buttered crumbs
1/2 c. milk 1/4 lb. sharp cheese, sliced
Paprika  
 

Slowly stir grits into boiling salted water.  Cook five minutes over direct heat, stirring occasionally.  Alternate layers of cooked grits and pieces of sliced sharp cheese in greased baking dish.  Add Worcestershire sauce to milk and pour over layers of grits and cheese.  Sprinkle with buttered bread crumbs and paprika.  Bake in slow oven (325 F.) about 20 minutes.
