Add
cream of tartar and salt to egg
whites before beating. Add
sugar slowly while beating egg
whites, and beat until they will
stand up in points. Spread
in glass pie dish, which has
been buttered on the bottom
only, and mold to the shape of
the dish. Bake at 300 F.
for 45 minutes. Turn oven
off and allow to remain in oven
for 5 to 10 minutes. Cool
thoroughly before using.
Nut meats may be sprinkled over
meringue before baking, if
desired. |
