Roll
chicken breasts thoroughly in
flour. Fry in heavy sauce
pan with butter, ham, mushrooms
and onions until golden brown.
Add salt, pepper, bay leaf,
garlic and wine. Cover,
and cook in moderate oven (350
F.) for at least 45 minutes,
adding a little water during
cooking if necessary. When
done, turn out on serving dish
and keep warm. Add cream
to liquid in pan and bring to a
boil, stirring constantly until
reduced to a rich, smooth gravy.
Pour over chicken, and garnish
with bread cubes which have been
browned in butter. |
