Famous Green Parrot Inn Bread Recipes
 

DUMPLINGS

2 c. flour, sifted   3/4 c. milk
3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tb. shortening  
 

Sift flour, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again.  Cut shortening in with knives or spatula.  Add sufficient milk to make a drop batter.  Drop from fork into boiling liquid, cover, and steam for about ten minutes.  Keep liquid at boiling point during entire time.  Serve immediately.
