Dr. J. Philip Knoche was born in Jackson County,
Missouri, July 25, 1859. He was educated in the Kansas City
public schools and at Spalding's Business College. His first
course in medicine was taken at the Kansas City Medical College.
Afterwards he attended the Belleview Hospital Medical College of New
York, and in 1883 went to the University of Vienna in Austria, where
he took a post-graduate course of three years.
Meanwhile he had begun practicing medicine in
1881, first in partnership with Walter R. Fisher and later with Dr. J.
D. Griffith.
Dr. Knoche makes a specialty of skin
diseases, and is serving his third term as professor of Dermatology in
the University Medical College. He is a member of the Jackson
County Medical Society, the Academy of Medicine, and the Missouri
State Medical Association.
