Pie and Pie Crust Recipes from the Famous Green Parrot


4 c. fresh strawberries   3/4 c. water
3 tb. cornstarch 1 tb. butter
1 tsp. lemon juice 3 or 4 drops red food coloring
1 c. whipped cream  

Place sliced strawberries in a baked 9-inch pie shell.  Add food coloring to water; then add remaining ingredients (except cream) and cook until clear.  Pour over berries, refrigerate for about three hours, and top with whipped cream before serving.
