Cream
shortening, sugar. Beat
egg yolks and add to creamed
shortening and sugar. Add
3/4 cup milk alternately with
flour, preferably one tablespoon
at a time. Dissolve soda
in remaining 1/4 cup milk, and
add alternatively with remaining
flour. Add chocolate and
boiling water while still hot.
Lastly fold in beaten egg
whites. Bake in layers at
350 F. until done (about 25
minutes).
NOTE:
This is a large recipe and will
make three large layers. |
