Chop
dates and English walnuts rather
coarsely. Beat eggs, add
sugar, cherry juice, vanilla,
then add flour sifted with
baking powder and salt.
Add dates and nuts, and the
whole cherries. Bake in a
well oiled cake pan for one hour
in a moderate oven, lowering the
temperature for the last 10 or
12 minutes. This cake does
not brown. It is better if
it is not baked in a pyrex dish. |
