Green Parrot Inn Cake Recipes
 

GREEN PARROT BANANA CHIFFON

5 egg yolks   1 c. egg whites
2-1/4 c. sifted cake flour 1-1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. salad oil or 1 c. mashed banana
    1 stick of butter 1 tb. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. vanilla
 

Beat egg yolks with sugar until well blended.  Add butter or salad oil, and beat.  Sift flour, salt and baking powder together, and add alternately with bananas and lemon juice to first mixture.  Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, to which cream of tartar has been added, and add vanilla.  Bake in tube pan for one hour at 300 F.  Remove from oven, inverting pan, and allow to cool.
