The HORNER INSTITUTE OF FINE ARTS is
exceedingly proud of the men and women
who have been assembled on its
faculty. Not only are they
artists, but they also are instructors
of splendid equipment and
experience. Certain qualifications
have been demanded of them, and none
have been engaged who failed to meet
these requirements. Every teacher
has been chosen because he combines
artistic excellence with the ability to
impart his ideas to others, and because
he possesses those high moral qualities
without which no amount of virtuosity
can make his work effective according to
our standards of education.
Our teachers
are selected, too, because they are
teachers from choice, rather than from
necessity. They must be artists of
the first rank. Many great
artists, however, are totally lacking in
the ability to impart their knowledge;
they frequently dislike teaching and
engage in it purely for commercial
reasons. Our insistence,
therefore, that all our teachers possess
artistic, pedagogic and moral
qualifications assures students of the
highest possible degree of efficiency. |
